Overview
Christchurch Polytechnic has been in the education business since 1906 as a provider of high quality accredited certificate, diploma and degree courses equal to any. The Institute has welcomed thousands of international students of the years and maintains links with many international education intstitions. Located in the centre of Christchurch on New Zealand’s beautiful South Island, the Institute offers excellent English language tuition among its diverse range of courses and numbers students from over 50 countries among its enrolments.
Campus
The Institute’s main city campus is located in the heart of the CBD with public transport easily accessible as well as cafés, restaurants and shopping centres. The campus boasts modern facilities housed over two city blocks to provide state of the art resources for the benefit of staff and students. Homestay is recommended (and arranged) for new students while they settle into college life and get familiar with the Institute and the city.
Courses
The English language programmes offer by the Polytechnic include General English, English Plus, Introduction to Tertiary Study, Applied Language Studies, Cambridge Exam Preparation, Intensive IELTS Preparation, and Certificate in English as an Additional Language. The Student Association presents a range of orientation activities as well as food and music events and other social and cultural events throughout the year.

News
Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology (CPIT) is all set to offer Bachelor of Applied Science to students in 2013 where the students would learn human nutrition as a major part of the curriculum. The other topics would be the existing subjects, such as health and wellness, exercise, and physical activity. In 2014, the college also plans to offer one-year PG degree in human nutrition.
